Creating Contents- A Worth-Doing Viral Marketing Example
December 10, 2008 by Dean · Leave a Comment
One year ago, I have no knowledge about viral marketing examples. However, when I got hired as a content writer in an outsourcing company, I tend to realize the whole marketing concept of my work is about circulating the relevant keywords worldwide using the techniques in search engine optimization.
As a content writer, my job is not easy. I don’t like writing a 300 or 450-words article for the sake of writing and I really don’t know why there are hype messages online telling you that it’s possible to write eight to ten articles a day. Is this a practical joke or what?
Perhaps, this insane technique may be possible if you own a viral marketing software with an IQ of 180 but geez, are you sure your articles are of above-average quality or are you simply trying to please those giant search engines?
The Hardships of Writing Articles for Optimization
Article writing has never been easy. You should insert keywords you get from Google AdWords or WordTracker and at the same time, preserving its nice quality. Sometimes, it seems very hard to write an original 700-word article with main keyword at the title, at the first paragraph, at the middle part and at the ending with additional keywords in between but you know what, this is where the real challenge sets in.
It’s only a matter of time when I get used to the routine. Truth is; article writing is the most common example of viral marketing. When people like what they read in your articles, they may write comments about it, bookmark it on Digg or StumbleUpon or repost it in their own blog. These days, there are article directories like Article Slide that allow you to embed articles with author’s link in it.
Power of Conversion
This might be the huge advantage of article writing. You can convert your article into multiple versions. You can create a newsletter, a press release, a squeeze page, a product review, a viral tutorial video, a podcast etc. Then if you are done converting your article, you can come up with an ebook.
An ebook is probably the most bestselling digital product online. Creating an ebook is like having an identity of your own. An ebook is one of the powerful forms of brand marketing. You can put several backlinks in it directing to your niche.
Plus, an ebook is not limited. You can have the whole space to express your viral marketing ideas. It might be also a great idea if you include fictional short stories in your ebook. Stories entertain people and when I say stories, this is only limited to words. You may tell a story in a form of podcast or video.
Imagine if you will do these things in your first ebook? Your ebook will not only be read by your own family members or relatives but the message will be forwarded to a friend to another friend until the whole world knows about your existence.
Blog Advertising
Having an ebook is a pride. That’s why; there is a huge need to advertise your ebook into the public eye. How? Use your blog. A blog is regularly used as a viral tool to attract more customers. What’s more good to this is, creating a blog is absolutely for free and you can select numerous templates to make it attractive.
Begin the advertising by posting a product review. Tell something about your ebook, why they need to download it and how they can benefit from it. Keep the review short. Try using the bullet form of writing as this style can be read quicker and clearer.
When you’re done, bookmark your blog post in various bookmarking sites. Include this piece of ad in your squeeze page, if possible. Or better yet, join forums and circulate the link leading to your blog post. This technique will not only bring traffic to your blog but also telling the people to download your ebook.
Cost Per Click
If you know any advertising services or programs that might lend you a helping hand in advertising your ebook, never hesitate to create alliances with them. These affiliate programs can teach you how to use the cost per click campaign in your mission.
Mark Kimathi wrote, “Cost Per Click is the price that you as an advertiser will pay for each click of your advert. This is a number to watch as it determines the cost of reaching your market.”
Conclusion
To sum it all up, content writing is probably the simplest form of viral marketing example. Writing may be hard for some people but if you are creative enough to convert just one article into different angles, your time will never be wasted.

Viral Marketing Techniques: The Backbone of Internet Success
October 22, 2008 by Dean · 1 Comment
These days, viral marketing is a type of buzz marketing that shock the world with storm. The word “marketing” is coined with the word “viral” because it encourages millions of people to pass a great message using the word-of-mouth.
My friend told me if I have some creative idea on any viral marketing campaigns, I should not be ashamed to spread the idea using the Internet. You know, I’m not the most intelligent businessman in this world and I’m not with with my strategic marketing methods.
Yet, this lack of confidence doesn’t stop me from doing what I want best. The world of marketing is about ideas anyway and no matter how crazy it is, an idea is still an idea and you can spin it into different versions until your viral marketing campaign is successful.
I was twelve when I first heard the world “viral marketing.” My father told me this term is related to online marketing. If you have some valuable products to sell, you should learn how to use the power of web networking to make sales.
As a matter of fact, viral marketing skyrockets the rate of flow of your information. If you are a member of these social online communities such as MySpace, this gives you the edge to achieve the peak success of your campaign.
Viral Marketing Techniques
There’s no perfect vial marketing techniques, only tried and tested ideas. Once the idea becomes effective, it might be called “technique” and anyone can use it for their marketing success.
As an entrepreneur, I’ve learned that the most important variable in viral marketing is the number of your contacts. The more contacts you have, the better. The richer they are, the better you get.
Imagine if you have a very valuable product and you tell your friends about it but none of them wants to buy it due to expensive cost, this might be a waste of your time. Explore the world around and find someone who can afford to buy your product.
If you have a blog about niche marketing, convince the readers to spread your mission. Put some friendly statements like “if you found this blog is of real value, why not tell your friends, family and colleagues about it.”
This technique seems effective. The message might sound simple but it creates a huge impact on readers. If they find your contents worth reading, your blog will be everywhere on the web and you, as the administrator, will be busy answering personal requests.
Another technique is the effectiveness of your brand. Does your blog’s tagline sound catchy to attract people worldwide? Have you convinced them in buying your products? Or you have simply wasted their time reading your entries when in fact there’s no significant point why they are reading your blog?
For this, making attractive brand names is a must. Never give the world a buzz if you cant give them the buzz marketing they want to hear from you. The whole point of this is, your brand name should articulate the bigger picture of you, not only as the entrepreneur.
Selling viral softwares such as ecalendars, organizers, personal planners, link checking software, etc. is another brilliant strategy in viral marketing. One talented entrepreneur, Titus Hoskins, commented, “These simple software programs can be great viral promotional devices that spread like wildfire across the web.”
Titus Hoskins suggested RSS feeds should also be of good quality. The role of your RSS feed is to distribute your news stories all over the globe. If your RSS doesn’t work properly, your viral marketing ideas remain futile.
That’s why; if you still have no website and you want to pursue a career on affiliate marketing, start with a blog. Blogger.com guarantees you a great blog that can be read by anyone in the world.
Lastly, never forget this simple way to bring your word across your world: create e-books. By definition, e-book refers to electronic files and can be downloaded anytime as long as the website owner permits it.
Here’s are the secrets:
If you love writing, go ahead and learn the art and science of article marketing. Other marketers write as many ebooks as they can in a week and compile it in a PDF format. Or if you hate writing, you can ask permission from different authors to use their articles published in article directories (ezinearticles.com) and use these articles to make a 200-page e-book. If you are not still satisfied, shop around clickbank or ebay and resell those e-books with public label rights.
Loudest Buzz Creates Fame and Makes Money
Remember this statement always as you embark your journey on viral marketing. Never be shy in selling what you’ve got and don’t hide whatever marketing ideas you have. Anyone can be a great online marketer but for those who remain consistent in spreading their words are the luckiest of all.
Be rich… be friendly… be active… that’s viral!
